On stage I manifest my body; above my path my arrows of thoughts travel; before great predecessors, I contour a form. A life resides in the folly act.<\/p>\n

Profile
\nMin Tanaka\u2019s activities does not simply fit in conventional artistic frameworks such as theatrical arts, dance, music, and visual arts. \u201cI dance not in the place, but I dance \u2018the place.\u2019\u201d This epigram-like saying by Tanaka sums up the process of the experimental and avant-garde dancer. His debt in Paris in 1978 has led to numerous collaborations with intellectuals and artists around the world. To date, he has danced more than 3000 times in an extensive variety of settings and occasions. Since his first appearance in a feature film, Twilight Samurai, in 2002, he has performed in a number of films and TV dramas in the Asian countries as well as Hollywood. <\/p>\n
