Short Biographies of Artists<\/p>\n

Min Tanaka (Dancer)
\nBorn in Tokyo in 1945. He was trained in classical ballet and American modern dance around 1960s, and in 1974 he started searching for his own dance and physical expression.
\nIn 1978, he made his international debut at the Louvre Museum. His performance \u2014extremely gentle and infinitesimal movement to withdraw the potentiality of a body\u2014 impacted on Art world, far beyond the dance scene as a brad-new artistic expression. Starting in 1985, he has been living in a village in mountain side, basing his daily life in farming in order to search for deeper physicality. Since his first appearance in the film \u201cTwilight Samurai\u201d directed by Yoji Yamada in 2002, he has appeared in a numerous number of films with his unique approach to acting and distinct presence. His books include My Bare Body and Conscious Body, Contagious Mind. A Photo Book \u201cPhotosynthesis MIN by Keiichi TAHARA\u201d was published from SUPER LABO.

John Russell (guitar)
\nBorn in London in 1954. In his teens, he began playing in early days of free improvisation in such places as Little Theater Club, Ronnie Scott\u2019s and ICA. In 1975, he released his first album form Incus Records, known for Derek Bailey and Evan Parker, and he has released more than 50 albums to date. He is one of the most prominent figures who has supported the UK\u2019s underground music, hosting Mopomoso, the longest-running monthly concert in the country for improvisation music. He came to Japan for the first time in 2001 with German saxophonist Stefan Keune, and it was his Japan tour organized by Yoshisaburo Toyozumi that made a name for himself in Japan\u2019s improvisation music scene. St\u00e5le Liavik Solberg (drums)
\nBorn in 1979, he is an up-and-coming percussionist and drummer who plays improvisational performance. Based in Oslo, he has released such notable CDs as Will It Float? with John Russell, Steve Beresford and John Edwards, and a duo with John Butcher, as well as a trio with Alan Silva and Mette Rasmussen. His latest work, Imaginary Numbers, was recorded with Joe McPhee and Pascal Niggenkemper. In addition, he has been a major figure in organizing and managing a music concert series called Blow Out!, which later became a music festival of the same name. The latter event was co-organized by Scandinavia-based drummer Paal Nilssen-Love. In the Fall last year, he has toured in Taiwan with John Russell.
