The existence of \u201capoptosis,\u201d the gene of death reminds me the feeling of awe for the revolving in the natural world, although it is a matter of cause that a gene itself makes a choice and executes natural demise of human being. \u201cTibetan Book of the Dead\u201d once told us a notion that \u201clife is always present combined with death\u201d \u2014 and now it has been proven to be true scientifically, not just by instinct. <\/p>\n
The other day, I had a chance to see the actual moment the apoptosis \u201csuicides\u201d on the video. While watching it, I pictured my brain screening another video that female salmons swimming upstream and spawning, while the males being drifted away in the river stream after fertilization \u2014emaciated to death as if they were dried up. Those \u201cTwo Dance of Death\u201d deeply impress us the dignity of life, and thus they would win the championship in the permanent edition of the video materials for the dance resource.<\/p>\n
As for the fundamental behavior of organisms, we can easily think of the various kinds dedicated to maintain their lives. Probably there is the fundamental behavior for the purpose of communication, in parallel to managing the lives. Drawing, Voicing, and Dancing are the actions which something called \u201cdance substances\u201d in our body interprets and addresses the internal bodily sensations toward outer body, though the time lag can be infinitely different.<\/p>\n
I wonder the dance substance which exists beyond individual being is actually a gene of some kind\u2026<\/p>\n
It seems that humankind has witnessed \u201cdance\u201d in various behavior by the other members of life forms \u2014 Courtship Dance, Dance of Death, War Dance, and Dance of Delight, etc., etc. The human beings have been aware that there is the presence of dance in a turning point or a critical juncture in lifetime through other forms of life. A good example would be human\u2019s mimicry based on empathy, such as a dance mimicking a bird which exists in many variations all over the world. <\/p>\n
The root of the dance could be human\u2019s desire for identification rather than the feeling of empathy.<\/p>\n
I feel like calling at any moment an international conference of genes living within my body. <\/p>\n
The subject matter to discuss would be \u201cwhen and how did human beings start dancing to begin with?\u201d With no time limitation, debates would go on endlessly about emotion, sensation, community, life and death, consciousness, courage, so on and so forth about everything relevant to dance. There will be an argument also on the invisible part of dance. People may be deeply intrigued by the idea and probably existence of what you may call \u201cdance particles.\u201d A Society of Dance may be organized by a group of the genes\u2026<\/p>\n
The organization we want to call The Dance Resources on Earth is probably concerned with most of our endeavors as living organisms. There will be this deliberate group dedicated to the collection, documentation and study of dance resources. Then there will be a place, a forum, and a purpose. This process is very much like that of dance. Five years have passed since we started the group. We want to keep finding the joy of capturing the genetic moment of dance coming to the fore.
